Happy 2nd Birthday Princess!!

July 16th 2009...The day I met the love of my life.

It all started on July 15th 2009. I was due to be induced  later that night. Kaleigh however, had different plans. Around 1:00pm Brentton decided to go out and clean the car while I lay in bed and attempted to rest. Keep in mind at this time I was 41 WEEKS PREGNANT! Need I say more... I got up to use the bathroom and my water started leaking!! I immediately called Brentton and he rushed home. I was scared, nervous and most of all, I just wanted to take a bath..hahaha We called the Dr and he told us to go straight to the hospital! As we waited in triage, a woman beside us was holding the smallest baby I had ever seen. Just chillin' in the the triage holding area? Strange..anyways little did I know MY baby would be double the size of that tiny little girl. I will spare you the nasty details of the labor process and put it this way; The Dr. was very inexperienced and hadn't done an ultrasound since I was around 22 weeks pregnant. We had NO CLUE how big our baby was going to be. They did come in to my room that night, felt of my stomach and said, "Oh, this baby is probably of average size, no need to worry!" Well, I don't mean to be hateful but I'm pretty sure the doctors working with me that day skipped a few classes in med school. hahaha, this is true! 24 hours passed and still NO KALEIGH...I was begging for a C-section and was mentally and physically exhausted. At that point, I came down with a fever and they quickly realized I had an infection from my water being broken more that 24 hours. I was scared for myself and my baby. Her heart beat was dropping and I was so panicked that I couldn't even focus long enough to breath. I don't know what I would have done if DiAnne wasn't in there with me. She was the only one who kept me focused. 28 hours later Kaleigh came into the world. I didn't hear her cry and I didn't get to hold her. She was quickly taken away and a crowd of doctors and nurses surrounded her. I closed my eyes and prayed........

Please God, don't take my baby away from me.

Kaleigh had a rough delivery as did I. She was in the birth canal a long time, the cord was wrapped around her neck twice and she was having trouble breathing.

She cried. I cried. I'm pretty sure we all were crying...

At 5:32pm we welcomed a Beautiful Baby Girl
She weighed 9lbs 1.4oz & 21" long

Just to hear you cry..

As I stare at my baby girl I can hardly speak as to my love for her. I would lay down my life for this child. I hope one day Kaleigh can read all the posts I have written about her and get to experience my love for her. She makes me smile every day...even when I don't feel like smiling. She is truly an angel sent from heaven. As she approaches her 2nd birthday, I think more and more about the first time I saw her face. It was and still is a struggle for me to remember the day she came into this world. It was a long, rough, traumatic and amazing day. I've never been in so much pain and agony in my life. I was scared for her and I for so many reasons. I'm learning to cope with what happened to me and hopefully one day get over the trauma. The joyful, happy birth I was expecting and fantasizing about hadn't come true....They rushed her away form me and before I knew it doctors were gathered around her and I was sitting on the delivery bed, alone, elevated in the air and helpless. I just wanted to hold my baby girl! As I waited to hear her first cry, I prayed God wouldn't take her away from me. Then I heard it, the most amazing sound in the world. It was beautiful...She was and is beautiful. I'll never forget that day. She was worth every second of misery they put me through. I love you Kaleigh Madison more than you will ever know. :)
The light of my LIFE..

How can you not smile? :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Happy Fathers Day!!

Happy Fathers Day to all the wonderful men in my life!!

Brentton; you are the most amazing father I could have ever imagined for our daughter. You make her laugh, give her everything she could ever want, put her needs first, play her favorite games and read her books, She said "dada" first, she loves "squeezing" you, giving you kisses and playing ball. You teach her so many things and I know you will continue to show her what kind of person to be. You provide for us and work so hard to give us everything we want. We love you very much!!!

Dad; Words can't even express how much I love you. I think about you every single day. My whole life you worked so hard and gave me everything I wanted and needed. You taught me so much and I know I have your best traits <3 You are funny, smart, hard working, loving and you care so much about how other people feel. You have a huge heart and you don't give yourself enough credit. You are a great "papaw" to my baby. She loves you so much and her face lights up every time she sees you. I love you and miss you so much. Your the best!!

Brian; You mean so much to me. You are the best father-in-law I could have asked for. You welcomed me into your family and make me feel so special. You've always been there when we needed you. You are the most caring man I've ever met, always putting others in front of you. Your smart, thoughtful, giving, full of energy and you always make me smile. I think you are a great father!! Not to mention a wonderful "Pa B" to the princess. You love her more than anyone and she loves you very much.
